April is gone.

It is hard to believe more than a month has past since my last post. Time here goes fast, especially when you travel.

For us, April was a busy month. Kyle continued with his Friday afternoon business class and weekly consulting appointments. I was finishing Term 2 home school lessons. And most excitingly, my parents arrived for a three week visit just before Easter.

Easter was fairly quiet this year. The weekend is a four-day weekend with Friday and Monday being National holidays. Many churches organize elaborate programs and conferences. This year, however, our church had only a Friday and Sunday service.

My parents spent Easter week with us in Chipata and on Friday we drove back to Lusaka to fly to Cape Town for a holiday together. Cape Town is an amazing place to visit. Not only is a rather developed and "western" city, but it gave birth to much of the southern African colonization, thus holds important history under its modern facade. We enjoyed the outdoor sights of Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula, including a hike out to Cape Point. A day trip to Stellenbosch gave us a view of the miles of grape vineyards that are beginning to make South Africa famous. And a boat ride to Robben Island was a window into apartheid history, as it is the location of the maximum security prison that housed many "political enemies" during the Freedom Movement, most famously Nelson Mandela. The rich history coupled with seafood and World Cup fever made a delightful holiday.

Upon our return to Zambia we made a quick trip to Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park in Botswana. And then it was time for my parents to return to the United States, thus marking the beginning of the end of OUR stay in Zambia.

It is difficult to communicate all the feelings moving provokes in us. Zambia has truly become our home in the last two years. However, the Lord has made it clear and continued to confirm our decision to move on from our position with Partners Worldwide to make room for the work He (the Lord) will continue to do through our replacement. Kyle and I continue to seek direction through prayer and feel confident that we will move from one ministry to another. It has always been our heart to serve the Lord wherever we live.

I will return to the United States June 1 to celebrate the wonderful marriage of a close friend. Kyle will return sometime in July to finish out his contract. Although this may not sound like the most ideal arrange, we know that God has a purpose for it.
