We forgot to take a picture in Detroit...we were not there very long. But this was our second stop: Amsterdam aka "the mother land."
We stayed for 3.5 hours here and wanted to SEE what we could. We did not make it out of the airport but we still toured around. Below are a few of our favorite pictures... The Flying Dutchman is a tribute to
our Alma Mater.

This is the McDonald's PlayPlace at the airport...we actually took a nap at on of the tables nearby.
The picture of me with the Ostrich officially marked our arrival at the Johannesburg airport. Kyle remembered this Ostrich and wanted to take me to see it.

This is the store Kyle remembered that sells all kinds of African crafts that are very beautiful. You may be taking note how our hair seems flatter and our eyes are a bit sleepy...we arrived at the airport at 9:50pm and were going to stay there until 10:30am the next morning.
This last picture is the room and bed where we crashed and stayed in Lusaka for a few days before we departed for Chipata. It is the home of the Southern African Regional Director of the CRWRC.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of our travels. I will be working hard to update you all on our latest adventures and hopefully get a video and more pictures up.
In case you are not aware, tomorrow September 25, 2008, Kyle and I depart from the Lusaka Airport and head back to the U.S. for three weeks. We have some meetings and a conference with Partners Worldwide and will spend some time visiting with family and friends. This will most likely be our last visit to the U.S. for 14months. Our first few weeks here have allowed us to connect with our projects and get a better idea of what is happening. We are glad that we could come and have this initial contact in order to better inform supporting North American partners when we see them at the Partners Worldwide Conference.
For those who are interested: the Partners Worldwide Conference is October 2-4 in Muskegon, MI. For more information go to http://partnersworldwide.org/conference/
At this point our plan is to spend September 25-30 in Chicago, September 30-October 6 in West Michigan (for conference and Partnership Manager meetings and some visiting), October 6-11ish in Detroit area, and returning to Chicago October 11-14 when we depart to come back to Zambia.
We do desire to see many of you when we are home and hope something can work out. However, the short duration and constant movement may make it difficult to see everyone, so please contact us if you want to see us and we will do our best to plan some time to visit together.
Thank you all for your constant prayers and support. Our constant moving about in Zambia has made it difficult to continue updating you, but we are both doing very well. My stitches are out and the cut is healing nicely. When we return to Zambia we should settle after a week or two and will hopefully be updating this more regularly.
Blessings and peace to you all.
