Serving in the meantime...

"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

July has come upon us and we're a bit discouraged that we're not in Zambia yet. We continue to wait on the work visa. It was looking optimistic to leave the 2nd or 3rd week of July, but nothing is for sure. We have been informed that the Zambian Immigration Dept. has been changing to a computerized system so inputing all the paperwork and learning the new system takes time. The Immigration also has been restructuring due to many complaints about their poor response times. So all this contributes towards our delay. We continue to hold onto the Lord and His plan.

I (Kyle) have fully recovered from my wisdom teeth extraction. Other than the pain medication not sitting well, it wasn't too bad a process. I also continue to assist our Zambian partners through email with planning and budgeting. The extra time also allows us to read a lot and simply seek the Lord about what He's up to. We continue to enjoy our time with families as we've been able to babysit, attend parties and continue to meet with friends and family that are supporting us financially, emotionally and with their prayers.

One major highlight the past few weeks was a friend invited us to help out at a conference called Converge held in Wheaton, IL. It brought together local church leaders and many others from around the world that are involved or wanted to learn about the Alpha course. Alpha is an evangelism tool that churches can use to reach out to their community. People can invite co-workers, family, neighbors to this course that asks the question, "Is there more to life than this?" We were excited to be apart of this and hear the testimonies of how Christ has changed lives through this course. Its a no pressure, non-threatening introduction to Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the freedom and purpose He offers. It's a 10 week course in which people enjoy a dinner together, watch a video and then discuss in small groups. If you want to know more about the course and how your church can implement it, go to www.alpha.org. You can also search for other churches in your area where it is already going on. The conference also offered us a chance to serve others and be refreshed by encouraging speakers and a fellowship of believers that we're hungry for more of God's Spirit.

We appreciate everyone's encouragement and prayers. Keep it up. God will work things out and will provide for us and you, His children.
